Image Informatics and Computational Biology: The National Institute on Aging, a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is recruiting for a postdoctoral fellow with a background in cell based screens or imaging studies to work in the Image Informatics and Computational Biology Unit (IICBU), Laboratory of Genetics (LG) for high-throughput automated visual screening of RNAi libraries. The interdisciplinary group has developed image classification algorithms based on machine learning techniques, and we would like to apply these to the systematic reconstruction of genetic pathways. For additional information on this research, please go to http://www.grc.nia.nih.gov/branches/lg/iicbu/iicbu.htm.
The successful individual will possess an M.D. or Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular genetics, or a related field, with no more than five years of postdoctoral research experience in cell biology and image analysis. Salary is commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae via e-mail to Dr. Ilya Goldberg at igg@nih.gov.
