Molecular Immunology - DNA Recombination and Repair: The National Institute on Aging (NIA) is recruiting for a postdoctoral fellow to work within the Intramural Research Program in the Molecular Immunology Unit (led by Dr. Sebastian Fugmann) of the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology.
Projects are focused on the mechanisms/regulation of DNA recombination and repair in lymphocytes, in particular V(D)J recombination and immunoglobulin gene conversion. Experimental approaches include cell-line based in vivo systems and biochemical in vitro assays using purified (recombinant) proteins.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or M.D.) degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field, and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience. Salary is commensurate with research experience, according to the NIH intramural pay scale. The laboratory is located in Baltimore, MD, a city with a stimulating scientific and cultural environment.
Interested applicants should e-mail a curriculum vitae, bibliography, cover letter, a brief description of their research interests, and the names of three references to Dr. Sebastian Fugmann at fugmanns@grc.nia.nih.gov.
