Gene Regulation: The National Institute on Aging (NIA) is seeking two postdoctoral fellows to work within the Intramural Research Program in the Gene Regulation Section (led by Dr. Ranjan Sen) of the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology.
Projects are focused on:
  1. Regulation of transcription and V(D)J recombination at the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IgH) gene locus. Experimental approaches include the analyses of epigenetic changes at the locus during B cell development using normal and genetically altered mice, chromosomal positioning and conformation using 3D-FISH, and biochemical reconstitution of enhancer activity in-vitro.

  2. NF-kB-dependent gene expression in activated B and T lymphocytes. Specific topics include the regulation of programmed cell death, the connection between innate and adaptive immune responses, and dysregulation of the NF-kB response in human aging and autoimmune disease.
Experience in molecular biology is desired. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or M.D. within the last five years in a relevant field. Salary is commensurate with research experience, according to the NIH intramural pay scale.
Interested applicants should e-mail a curriculum vitae, bibliography, cover letter, a brief description of their research interests, and the names of three references to Dr. Ranjan Sen, email rs465z@nih.gov.
