Postbaccalaureate Training Opportunity at the NIH
Cartilage Tissue Engineering: One or more positions will be available starting in Summer, 2008, in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy Section (Richard Spencer, M.D., Ph.D., Chief) of the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health, located in Baltimore, Maryland. The work will center on tissue engineering protocols and characterization of engineered tissue, and the postbac fellow will also have the opportunity to learn modern magnetic resonance (MRI and NMR) techniques. Candidates should have or be close to obtaining a degree in biomedical engineering, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related areas. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. A minimum commitment of 20 hours per week is required, although a schedule of up to 40 hours/week is available. In addition, a commitment of 6 months to a year or more is required. This appointment can be renewed for a total of two years and can be taken up either concurrently with undergraduate studies (part time) or after completion of the Bachelor's degree (full time).
