Suggests that the target article by L. S. Benjamin does not provide adequate evidence supporting the clinical validity of the Structural Analysis of Social Behavior system ((SASB), Benjamin, 1974, 1984) in understanding and treating personality disorders. The clinical utility of the 5-factor model (FFM) is defended, and factor solutions are compared. Several recent examples of the clinical utility and promise of the FFM are presented, and it is argued that the FFM is recovered better in Benjamin's data than has been realized.
