McCrae RR, Costa PT, Jr. Adding Liebe und Arbeit : The full five-factor model and wellbeing. Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin 1991;17(2):227-232.

Correlated self-reports and spouse ratings on the NEO Personality Inventory with 3 measures of psychological well-being in a sample of 429 Ss (aged 24-87 yrs). The inventory measured the 5 factors of neuroticism (N), extraversion (E), openness to experience, agreeableness (A), and conscientiousness (C). Consistent with previous research, N was negatively and E was positively related to well-being. Both A and C were also significant independent predictors of well-being.
