Costa PT, Jr. Neuroticism as a factor in the diagnosis of angina pectoris. Ann. Behav. Med. 1981;3(3):18-20.

Discusses the findings of (e.g.) P. T. Costa et al (in press) and M. F. Elias et al (in press) as evidence that neuroticism is more of a risk factor for undergoing arteriography than for coronary artery disease such as angina pectoris. Negative correlations have been found between maximum arterial occlusion and psychological measures of neuroticism. Neuroticism has shown positive correlations with false positive diagnoses of angina pectoris.
