Of total 4,207,716 mouse cDNA sequences (ESTs) in the public database (NCBI/dbEST), 395,686 (~10%) are derived from our Mouse cDNA Project (completed). We have produced the largest number (57%: 89,440 out of 158,039 total in the public database) of mouse cDNA clones/sequences collected from preimplantation embryos. Individual cDNA clones have been made available from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC). We have also contributed 716 mouse full-length cDNA clones to the Mammalian Gene Collection (MGC). Agilent DNA Microarrays: These 60-mer oligonucleotide microarrays have been developed under the CRADA between NIA and Agilent Technologies. We have designed oligonucleotide sequences based on our NIA Mouse Gene Index. These microarrays have been commercially available from the Agilent Technologies. NIA Mouse 22K Microarray v1.0 (v1.1) [AMADID# 011472] (Carter et al., 2003): This microarray was available from the Agilent Technologies (Mouse Development Oligo Microarray: #G4120A; from November 2002). Discontinued. Used in the following studies (selected publications): Hamatani et al., 2004; Hamatani et al., 2004b; Hamatani et al., 2004c; Yoshikawa et al., 2006; Matoba et al., 2006. NIA Mouse 44K Microarray v2.1 (v2.2) [AMADID# 012799 for 1x44K format; 015062 for 4x44K format] (Carter et al., 2005): This whole-genome expression microarray was available from the Agilent Technologies (Mouse Development Oligo Microarray: #G2519A option 002 for 1x44K format; #G2519F for 4x44K format). Discontinued. Used for the following studies (selected publications): Sharova et al., 2007; Sharov et al., 2008; Sharov et al., 2008b. NIA Mouse 44K Microarray v3.0 [AMADID # 015087] (Carter et al., 2005): This whole-genome expression microarray is currently available from the Agilent Technologies (4x44K format: Mouse Development Oligo Microarray). Used in the following studies (selected publications): Sharova et al., 2009; Aiba et al., 2009; Nishiyama et al., 2009. Spotted DNA Microarrays: We have produced mouse cDNA clone sets and made them available to the research community. Microarray facilities have spotted cDNA clones on glass slides or nylon membranes and used for gene expression profiling. At least 135 research institutions in 25 countries have used DNA microarrays based on the NIA mouse cDNA clone sets. NIA Mouse 15K Microarray (Tanaka et al., 2000); Kargul, et al., 2001): A collection of 15,264 unique cDNA clones that were rearrayed from total 52,374 cDNAs/ESTs derived from pre- and periimplantation embryos, E12.5 female gonad/mesonephros, and newborn ovary. NIA Mouse 7.4K Microarray (VanBuren et al., 2002): A collection of 7407 cDNA clones with no redundancy within the set or with NIA Mouse 15K. NIA Mouse 17K Microarray (Nadon et al., 2005): This microarray contains 16,897 features, which include approximately 12,341 unique genes. This array was based on the original 15K and 7.4K mouse cDNA clone sets. |
